Kris Deschouwer
Kris Deschouwer is currently professor of Political Science at the Free University of Brussels. He has done research and published widely on political parties, elections, federalism and regionalism, consociational democracies. He has been part-time professor at the Department of Comparative Politics in Bergen (Norway) and Research Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence (Italy). His most recent book - co-authored with Michael Keating and John Loughlin - is: Culture, Institutions and Economic Development. A study of Eight European Regions (Edward Elgar, 2003). He is currently involved in a research programme assessing the effects of the increasing complexity of political institutions on democratic political representation.
