Former Collaborating Researcher
Saidatulakmal Mohd collaborated with UNRISD for the project Poverty Reduction and Policy Regimes (2007-2010), for which she wrote a paper on Welfare Regime, Social Protection and Poverty Reduction in Malaysia. At the time of her collaboration, Mohd was a Lecturer in the Economics Section, School of Social Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Birmingham, UK, with a thesis on Saving, Labour Supply, Socioeconomic Indicators and Social Security Retirement Benefits – A Case Study of Malaysia.
Her publications include ‘Malaysian Social Security Retirement Programmes: A Calibration Analysis’; Expenditure on Socially Guaranteed Retirement via the Employees’ Provident Fund’; ‘The Role of Social Security in the Formation of a Prosperous and Just Society’; and ‘Provident Fund as Old Age Security in Malaysia’.
