New Gender Expert Position Supported by the Government of Switzerland
UNRISD is pleased to announce that recruitment is now open for the position of Gender Expert at the Institute. In collaboration with the Human Security Division of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs / Directorate of Political Affairs, UNRISD seeks a promising and innovative scholar with proven expertise in research on gender issues to join the Institute’s expanding research team.

Applicants must be Swiss nationals, and the closing date for this recruitment is 26 March 2014.

Within the context of the institute’s current research agenda, Social Development in an Uncertain World, the Gender Programme addresses the gendered content and impacts of economic, social and environmental policies and processes; the gendered politics of policy making, including the role of women’s machineries, movements and organizations; and issues related to human rights, security and sustainable development.

The Gender Expert will be part of a team committed to conceptualizing, developing and implementing the Institute’s research programme in the area of gender, and to ensuring the integration of gender issues throughout all areas of the Institute’s work.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate competence as a researcher in the field of gender with a proven publication record, with expertise in at least one of the priority areas of interest to the Institute.
