Chantal joined UNRISD in September 2009 as an intern to work with Shahra Razavi and Silke Staab under the Gender and Development research programme. She assisted the institute with the preparation of programme papers and edited volumes for the Political and Social Economy of Care project.
Chantal completed a Masters in Political Sociology at the London School of Economics and Political Science (2008/2009). She oriented it toward gender and development topics, focusing her dissertation on the subject of trafficking women for sexual purposes in Argentina, and the de-gendering impacts of the current security approach to this issue.
Prior to joining UNRISD, Chantal worked as an analyst on Trafficking in Persons at the Ministry of Justice, Security and Human Rights of Argentina, and as a researcher on this area at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), from where she holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. She also worked as a consultant for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and for Fidentia Foundation.
