Former Collaborating Researcher
Saman Kelegama collaborated with UNRISD for the project Poverty Reduction and Policy Regimes from 2007 to 2010 and wrote a paper on Sri Lanka’s development experience, social policy regime and poverty reduction strategies.
At the time of his collaboration with UNRISD, Kelegama was a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences and Executive Director of the Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka. He has a D Phil Economics degree from Oxford University,
He is the co-editor of the South Asia Economic Journal, and has published a large number of articles, book chapters and a book on various aspects of Sri Lanka’s development experience.
