Sabria Regragui Mazili
Sabria joined UNRISD in November 2008 as an intern to work with Nicola Hypher on the Social Policy and Development programme and as a research assistant for Thandika Mkandawire’s forthcoming book on African economies. At the time of her internship, she enrolled in a Masters Programme in International Affairs at the Graduate Institute of International Affairs and Development Studies in Geneva, having graduated from the University of Oxford with a Bachelors Degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics in 2008.
Prior to joining UNRISD, Sabria has worked as a research assistant at the Development Policy Research Unit at the University of Cape Town. She has extensive experience in volunteering, most recently as researcher for the UNDP’s International Poverty Center in Brasilia, and translator for the African Youth Forum. For her Bachelors thesis about the determinants of remittance flows from Moroccan migrants she compiled an original data set during field work in Rabat and Casablanca.
Research interests included inter-disciplinary approaches to migration, regional integration in Africa and the Maghreb, health economics, and public policy frameworks for development.
