Orlando joined the Social Policy and Development Programme at UNRISD as an intern. He worked with Katja Hujo and Imogen Howells on a project proposal regarding migration and social policy in a South-South context.
Orlando studied International Relations at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico and later completed a Master’s Degree in International Economic Relations and EU-Latin America Cooperation. At the time of his internship, he was working on his PhD thesis which compared the migration and development policies in Mexico and the United States with those in Ecuador and Spain.
Before joining UNRISD, Orlando worked as a development cooperation assistant at the Rey Juan Carlos University Development Cooperation Center in Madrid.
