Alberto Parmigiani joined UNRISD in February 2018 to assist Research Coordinator Katja Hujo and Research Analyst Maggie Carter with the Social Policy and Development (SPD) programme and in particular with the project “Engaging Elites: Class Coalitions for a 21st Century Social Compact”.
Alberto graduated with a Master of Science in Economics and Social Sciences at Bocconi University in April 2017, where he delivered a thesis on the political economy of crime news in contemporary Italy. He also attended courses at the University of California, Irvine, and at the University of Melbourne.
During his academic studies, Alberto served as a Research Assistant at Dondena Center for Research on Social Dynamics and Public Policy and at the online economic journal lavoce.info.
Alberto’s primary research interests are economic and political inequality and the relationship between media and politics in comparative perspective.
