Former Research Analyst
Chris joined UNRISD in July 2010 to work with Peter Utting on projects under the Markets, Business and Regulation Programme. He assisted Peter in preparing and editing a manuscript on Business, Non-State Regulation and Development. He also conducted research for various publications related to the UN Global Compact and the emerging UN business and human rights framework.
Prior to joining UNRISD, Chris worked at the International Business Leaders Forum in London. He also interned with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva, the International Network for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, and Social Accountability International, both in New York.
His research interests included business and human rights, corporate social responsibility, and the way that companies could be regulated through civil and legal mechanisms to minimise their adverse and maximise their positive impacts on human rights and social development.
Chris holds a BA in Political Science from Humboldt University of Berlin, an MA in Political Science from the New School for Social Research, New York, and a Master of Law (LLM) in International Human Rights Law from the University of Essex, UK
