Rafaela Pannain joined UNRISD in July 2008 as an intern. She assisted Peter Utting in the “Negotiating Alternative Trade Regimes in Latin America” and in the “Social Responses to Inequality and Policy Change” research projects.
Rafaela finished the thesis for a Masters degree in Political Science and International Relations at the Pantheon-Sorbonne University. Her thesis focused on democracy promotion initiatives in Latin America. She holds a Bachelors degree in Social Science from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
For two years, Rafaela assisted the “Democracia e Relação entre Poderes no Brasil” research at the Political Science Department at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
Her main research interests included social movements and regional integration, particularly in Latin America.
