Please note: If this submission is as part of a research team, only the lead researcher is required to complete the personal details requested in this form. However, please also submit a CV and a sample of a relevant publication for each member of the proposed research team and list their names in the relevant field below.P


Part One: Country

While other countries may be considered, priority will be given to proposals for: (i) single-country studies on Brazil, China, Ecuador, Ghana, India, Russia, Rwanda, South Africa and Sri Lanka; and (ii) clusters of 2-3 MENA countries selected among Bahrain, Jordan, Morocco, Oman, Tunisia and United Arab Emirates.

Please indicate which country or MENA cluster you have chosen for your research and why (e.g., specific challenges and risks, innovations in social policy and its linkages with other institutions and policies, implications of social policy changes for other low-/middle-income countries, etc.) If your country study is not listed above, please justify why the country you propose should be researched, with reference to the questions described in the project concept note. (700 words maximum)

Part Two: Research questions/hypotheses and methodology

Please propose specific research questions/hypotheses for country study and how you/your research team would address the research questions/hypotheses. Please specify your methodology, availability and accessibility of data, and feasibility of field research etc. (1,200 words maximum)

Part Three: Justification of resources

The budget allocation for single-country in-depth research is USD 40,000. The budget allocation for MENA cluster studies is USD 20,000. Please indicate, in detail, how you would allocate the available budget for the completion of the research. Include all estimated costs (personnel, fieldwork, material, facilities, etc.). This can also be expressed in a table. (600 words maximum)


Please also attach:
1. A full CV (including academic record and list of publications) for all proposed participants; and
2. A sample of a recent single authored piece of written work by each participant (published or unpublished) that is related to this research project
