Saidatulakmal Mohd holds a Ph.D. from the University of Birmingham with a thesis on ‘Saving, Labour Supply, Socioeconomic Indicators and Social Security Retirement Benefits – A Case Study of Malaysia’. She is writing a paper for UNRISD on Welfare Regime, Social Protection and Poverty Reduction in Malaysia.
She is Lecturer in the Economics Section, School of Social Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. Her publications include ‘Malaysian Social Security Retirement Programmes: A Calibration Analysis’; Expenditure on Socially Guaranteed Retirement via the Employees’ Provident Fund’; ‘The Role of Social Security in the Formation of a Prosperous and Just Society’; and ‘Provident Fund as Old Age Security in Malaysia’.
