Adrian Leftwich

Adrian Leftwich holds a DPhil degree and is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Politics, University of York where he teaches The Comparative Politics of Development. He is writing a paper for UNRISD on 'Developmental State Capacity and Institutional Reform'.
He has published widely on state building and development, including States of Development, 'Forms of democratic developmental state', 'Changing Configurations of the Developmental State', and 'Democracy and development: Is there an institutional incompatibility?’
