Former Intern (Research)
Yu joined UNRISD in May 2015 to work with the “Potential and Limits of Social and Solidarity Economy” project.
At the time of his internship, Yu was pursuing a Master’s of Development Studies at the Graduate Institute, Geneva. He holds a B.A. in International Relations from Universidade de Brasilia (UnB), Brazil, with final essay that discussed how international actors and local elites changed the narratives of Timor-Leste’s national identity in international cooperation for development. He studied in China, Paraguay, Brazil and France; fluent in Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, French and English.
Yu had worked as Communications Intern at UNDP International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG) and as professional interpreter in Brazil and China. His research focus is on international cooperation for development on poverty reduction and food security.
