Carlos Castel-Branco

Carlos Castel-Branco collaborated with UNRISD for the project Poverty Reduction and Policy Regimes 2007-2010. For this project he wrote a paper on Mozambique’s development experience, social policy and poverty reduction strategies.
Castel-Branco holds a PhD in economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. At the time of his collaboration with UNRISD, he was assistant professor of economics at Universidade Eduardo Mondlane in Maputo, Mozambique.

He has worked extensively on Mozambique’s development experience and his publications include: the book chapter, ‘Privatization and Economic Strategy in Mozambique’, with C. Cramer and D. Hailu in T. Addison (Ed) (2003). From Conflict to Recovery in Africa. (Oxford University Press); and the edited book, (1994) Moçambique Perspectivas Económicas. Faculty of Economics (UEM) and Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
