Former Collaborating Researcher
Michael Douglass collaborated with UNRISD for the project Making International Development Cooperation Effective (2011-2012). At the time of his involvement with this research project, Douglass was the Director of the Globalization Research Center and a Professor and former chair of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Hawaii.
He holds a Ph.D. in Urban Planning from UCLA, United States of America, and has previously taught at the Hague University, the Netherlands, and University of East Anglia, United Kingdom. He has joined numerous research and planning projects throughout Asia and has been a consultant for international development agencies as well as national and local governments in Asia.
