Brasilio Sallum
Former Collaborating Researcher
Brasilio Sallum has a PhD in sociology and is Professor of political sociology at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He is writing a paper for UNRISD on Brazil's Developmental State Capacity and Institutional Reform.
He received the Sérgio Buarque de Holanda´s prize for the best Social Essay (1997), based on his book Labirintos – Dos Generais à Nova República, from the Fundação Biblioteca Nacional. He has also published Brasil e Argentina Hoje – economia e política, Bauru-SP, EDUSC [editor and author of two articles] (2004); Labirintos - Dos Generais à Nova República, São Paulo, Hucitec/Socio USP (1996); and Capitalismo e Cafeicultura-Oeste Paulista (1888-1930) São Paulo, Duas Cidades (1982); as well as numerous articles in journals.
