Nadine Ruprecht joined UNRISD in September 2012 to assist the Deputy Director Peter Utting in research on eco-social policy.
Nadine has a Masters in Global Governance and Diplomacy from Oxford University and another Masters in Social Work from the Protestant University Freiburg, Germany. During her studies, she worked as an intern in development and climate change adaptation projects with the NGO Jucum in Central America (03-09/2007) and in a development & research cooperation with the University of Venda, South Africa (01/2005-12/2006).
Nadine developed her interest for the linkages between social development and greening the economy during her traineeship at the Green Think Tank “Heinrich Böll Foundation”, Brussels (02-07/2010). There, she supported the Global Dialogue Program in the themes Gender and sustainable development in close cooperation with the European Institutions. Nadine gathered further work experience as consultant in Green micro business development at the Instituto del Sur Arequipa, Peru (06-10/2011), and as research assistant for social development at the Protestant University Freiburg.
Prior to joining UNRISD, Nadine was trained in development communication at the OECD Development Centre in Paris (11/2011-07/2012).
