Annika Lindholm joined UNRISD in July 2012 to assist Research Coordinator, Ilcheong Il and Research Analyst, Olive Cocoman on the project Towards Universal Social Security in Emerging Economies.
Annika holds a Bachelor’s degree in public international law with a focus on international human rights law from Abo Akademi University in Finland. She is enrolled on a Master’s degree in socio-economics at the University of Geneva for the academic year 2012 – 2013. Annika’s research interests include the role of public policies and institutions in reducing poverty and promoting social development. True to her background within human rights, she seeks to explore how a human rights perspective is mainstreamed into development strategies.
Prior to joining UNRISD, Annika worked as Programme Coordinator of a human rights NGO in Geneva, Switzerland. She has also carried out internships with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland both in Geneva, Switzerland and in Helsinki, Finland.
