Smita Ramnarain

Collaborating Researcher

Smita Ramnarain is Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Rhode Island. Her research focuses on the political economy of development in South Asia, specifically the gender dimensions of post-conflict reconstruction, peacebuilding and development, feminization of poverty and female headship, microfinance, and environmental adaptation and resource conflicts. The Collaborating Researcher participated in the Call for Papers Implementing the Sustainable Development Goals: What Role for Social and Solidarity Economy? which was launched by the United Nations Inter-Agency Task Force on Social and Solidarity Economy (UNTFSSE) in 2018 and organized by UNRISD.
