Former Collaborating Researcher
Joseph Tucker was part of the research team for the project Migration and Health in China. At the time of his collaboration, Tucker was a Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the Chinese University Hong Kong, Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Technical Advisor for the WHO Collaborating Center on STI Control in China.
Tucker is a physician for infectious diseases with a special interest in sexually transmitted infections (STI) in China. He has worked on STI control in China since 1999, chiefly in cooperation with the National STD Control Center, Chinese Centers for Disease Control. His research examines the social context of sexual health promotion in China and has been supported has been supported by the NIH Fogarty Center, the Ford Foundation, the American Society for Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, and the Harvard Institute for Global Health. He trained at Swarthmore College, UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine, University of California San Francisco, and Harvard University.
