Susana Franco
Former Research Consultant
Susana Franco came to UNRISD to work on the “Policy Report on Gender and Development: 10 Years after Beijing”. While her first degree was in Mathematical Economics, she later specialised in development economics, obtaining a Ph. D. at the University of Nottingham. Prior to joining UNRISD, Susana worked as a lecturer at the University of Reading and as a research officer at the University of Oxford. She also acted as a research adviser at the Universidad Centroamericana in Nicaragua and as a consultant reviewing UNDP’s South Asia Poverty Alleviation Programme. Her research work covers several areas, including the impact of foreign aid and the definition and measurement of poverty.
