Meredith Brown

Former Intern (Research)

Meredith joined UNRISD in June 2018 to assist with various projects in the Social Dimensions of Sustainable Development programme, including the research project on just transitions to low-carbon development and further project development in the field of climate change adaptation. She assists Dunja Krause in research, communication, and project development activities. Meredith is interested in the development of local environmental justice strategies as it relates to global climate change policy and the important role of strategic communication in this process.

Meredith is a Master of Environmental Management 2018 candidate at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies. During this past year, she spent her fall semester pursuing two editorial internships in California at SIERRA Magazine and Earthjustice.

In addition to her academic experience, Meredith spent five years working in Santiago Chile at two international environmental NGOs—Oceana and The Nature Conservancy—supporting their development efforts and conservation projects throughout the region.
