Prashant Sharma

Former Visiting Fellow

Prashant Sharma is an Open Society Fellow and is working on a research project that investigates the accountability question related to public-private partnerships involved in developing social infrastructure in the BRICS countries, with a focus on India. He is also associated with the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration (IDHEAP), University of Lausanne where he is carrying out comparative research on the interface between transparency and democratisation.

Prashant did his PhD in the Department of International Development at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in which he examined the political and social processes that led to the enactment of the Right to Information Act in India. Prashant also has degrees from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi, and the University of Delhi. Previously, he has worked with the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), Nepal, the World Bank, the BBC World Service Trust, the London School of Economics, and the University of Delhi amongst others.
