Former Collaborating Researcher
Parashar Kulkarni collaborated with UNRISD on the flagship report Combating Poverty and Inequality (2010) for which he wrote a background thematic paper, Impact of the GATS on Basic Social Services Redux. At the time of this collaboration, Kulkarni was working with the Centre for Trade and Development, India.
His research areas are political economy, experimental methods, political economy of regulation and political strategy for advocacy. Key questions he addresses are: how do political market imperfections such as electoral incentives impact policy making and implementation, how to model the behaviour of NGOs, and how to design incentives to promote socially responsible corporate behaviour.
