At the time of collaboration, Antonio Roman-Alcalá is a PhD researcher with the International Institute of Social Studies (The Hague), focusing on the political ecologies of US rural, agrarian, and food movements. As a scholar-activist, he focuses on participatory methods and strategic considerations for changemaking, as seen in recent publications for Local Environment: The International Journal of Justice and Sustainability (Roman-Alcal‡ 2018) and the book Land Justice: Re-imagining Land,Food, and the Commons in the United States (Roman-Alcalá 2017).
